Connect the HeidiFi MCP server

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, or any MCP client to HeidiFi to read your venues, guests, campaigns, and Wi-Fi analytics — secured with your HeidiFi sign-in.

Last updated June 29, 2026

The HeidiFi MCP server lets AI assistants securely read your captive-portal data, so you can ask questions like "how many guests did my café capture this week?" or "list my active campaigns" right inside Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-compatible app.

It connects over the Model Context Protocol using your HeidiFi account — no API keys to copy or store. You sign in once, approve access, and your assistant gets read-only access scoped to your venues.

What your assistant can do

Once connected, these read-only tools are available:

  • Venues — list your venues and view details
  • Access points — see your Wi-Fi access points and their status
  • Guests — list, look up, and search captured guests
  • Campaigns — list campaigns and view their setup
  • Analytics — capture stats and campaign performance
  • Config — venue marketing and splash-screen settings
Note

Access is read-only today — your assistant can view data but can't send messages, edit campaigns, or change settings.

Your MCP server URL

This is the address you'll paste into your AI app. It's the same for everyone:

How signing in works

When you add the connector, your app sends you to the HeidiFi sign-in page. You'll:

  1. Sign in with your HeidiFi (Google) account
  2. See exactly what the app is requesting
  3. Click Authenticate to approve and return to your app

You can revoke this access from your HeidiFi dashboard at any time.

Preview of the sign-in screen — the app name shown will match the client you're connecting.

Warning

The sign-in screen lives on portal.heidifi.ai — that's the official HeidiFi dashboard. If a sign-in window shows a different address, don't enter your credentials.

What you're granting

You're granting read-only access to your captive-portal data — currently the ability to view your Wi-Fi access points (name, status, count) and the related venue, guest, campaign, and analytics data your assistant queries. HeidiFi never shares your password with the app; the app only receives a scoped access token.

Managing & revoking access

You can disconnect at any time:

  • From your AI app — remove the HeidiFi connector in its settings.
  • From HeidiFi — revoke access from your HeidiFi dashboard. Once revoked, the app's token stops working immediately.

Troubleshooting

  • "Your account isn't a captive-portal tenant" — The MCP server is for captive-portal accounts. Sign in with the HeidiFi account that manages your venues.
  • The connector won't add / errors on connect — Make sure the URL ends in /mcp and has no trailing spaces: https://mcp.heidifi.ai/mcp.
  • It keeps asking me to sign in — Your access may have expired or been revoked. Re-add the connector and authenticate again.
  • Tools don't appear after connecting — Restart your AI app (especially Claude Desktop) so it reloads connectors.
